It finally took to the air last Saturday. It was an experience that I will not soon forget. Never flew anything with this much power and stability. It was a wonderful experience. Just to bring everyone up to date this is a 33% Edge 540T by Aeroworks. Wing Span 105", Length 93", and is powered by a DA 100 swinging a Mejzlik 26X12 prop at about 6400 RPM. Two Futaba PCM receivers and three batteries, NiCads 6 Volt 1500 MA, Hitek 615MG Servos on Ailerons and Elevator, 2 Hitek 805 servos for rudder and a Futaba 3001 servo for throttle. Model weight 26 lbs and has all the vertical you can ask for. Graphics were done by Sierra Vista Signs. It has been a long time since this project started and was well worth the wait. The engine performed excellently and Chip was able to do his thing and make the rest of us feel mortal. I am in hopes that this plane will take me to levels I only dreamed of. |
