The Sierra Vista Thriller

The first RCCA open B Radio Control Combat Contest hosted by the Mesquite Modelers Radio Control Club was a great success. Eleven pilots participated in the hot and heavy action that included at least 3 midair collisions that rendered some of the aircraft unserviceable. Don Lacey did a great job as director of the Combat Contest. Nancy did a terrific job as scorekeeper.
  The rankings are as follows:

Randy Wegner          790 points
Chip Hyde                  490 “    “
Jerry West                  460 “    “
Jeff Sindelar                380 “    “
Eric Swisher                320 “    “
Jeremy Wegner          300 “    “

Don Lacey                  272 “    “
Tom Maddry              180 “    “
Al Tomlinson             120 “    “

Will Herman dropped out after the first round. Will claimed that gravity caused him to drop out. “It just sucked my aircraft into the ground” he said.
The prize for the most spectacular crash was given to Tom Madry.

FROM THE
EDITOR’S DESK

Greetings and Salutations to you all!
The combat competition at Bollin Field this past Sept 23 was by far one of the most exciting flying events I have seen in a long time. It takes a great deal of control and eye co-ordination. The pilots were great! The flying, terrific. I hope this becomes a yearly event. Congratulations to Don Lacey on a job well done!

Happy flying!
