THE PREZ SEZ
Hi everyone
September is almost with us and so
too is the monsoon weather. All the rain this year has led to the worst
weed problem at the field I've seen in my few years with the club.
Thanks to everyone who turned out for the last field cleanup day, we
took care of the worst of the problem and once the rain stops hopefully
we can finish it off. A few words about the City of Sierra Vista's view
on the problem. At my last meeting with John Startt he promised they
would come out and cut, which they have. He also asked the Parks
superintendent to have the runway sprayed and that as far as I know we
are still waiting for. Those of you who fly during the week please let
me know if city workers show up and what they do out there. The official
word on us spraying the field ourselves is No! Being a public
facility they are worried about liability issues which are an old story
to us all. Resurfacing is still being promised for this fall and I'll
keep you informed of any information that comes my way.
On a sad note this last week I lost
a close friend and a good friend to MMRCC, Donald Willcox owner of Daisy
Maes Steakhouse passed away Tuesday August 21. Many of you ate free
meals at his restaurant thanks to Don's contributions to the club. He's
going to be missed.
See you all at the next meeting

RC Airplane Definitions
Prop Nut:

A handy device for electronically installing false confidence into
rookie pilots.

Implement used to separate wings from fuselage.
