THE PREZ SEZ
Hi Everyone
Hard to believe that it's July
already. Our second major event of the year is over and what a great day
it was.
The Fathers Day Fun Fly was held
this last June 16th and we had the biggest turnout that I can remember.
Splitting up the pilots into two
classes, Masters and Sportsman, was a great idea that brought out all
those
people who had never flown in this kind
of competition before. Everyone had fun competing and I only remember
one crash throughout the whole event, a testament to the pilots and the
organization of the competition.
Since I was running the food I was
a little concerned when a quick count of people in the pits came up
around fifty.....I had planned for 25-30. A trip to Frys for hot dogs
bridged the gap. Along with all the dishes brought by members and wives
we had a great feast, thanks all of you who brought food. While I'm
thanking people big thanks to Bill Hermes for once again stepping up and
running this event. It was such a success that maybe we'd like to do it
again in the fall.
The next meeting will be July 5th
and a couple of things we will be discussing are the purchase of a
professional grade sprayer to help in weed control and improving the
seating and tables in the pit area. If you have opinions on these
matters you need to show up at the meeting, that’s where the decisions
will be made. So come along and let your voice be heard.
See you all at the field

Table of Excuses
From the D.C. Radio Control Club,
Montgomery County Maryland
Please give excuse by the number in
order to save time:
1. I didn’t know you were
waiting for the pin.
2. Did you see my airplane
get glitched?
3. I ain’t got it.
4. I have more crashed
because of bad radios.
5. That airplane was always
squirrelly.
6. I don’t know who did it,
but someone must have turned on their transmitter and
shot me down.
7. I just lost control;
everything went dead.
8. I thought I was on the
field.
9. That’s that only time I
ever left my transmitter on. Can you help me pick up the pieces?
10. I didn’t know you were in the
landing pattern, next time I’ll look before I taxi out. Do you
think it can be repaired?
Optional- I didn’t realize I was that
low when I flew over the pit area. Is three
models a record?
REPORT
Folks,
Many thanks
for all those that came out for the Father's Day Fun Fly. We had
fourteen pilots fly, seven in Sportsman class and seven in Master's
class.
My thanks for
all those that helped to make this event a success; Eric Fisher and
Steve Mason for the field prep and their help as score keepers, my
friend Will Herman for handling the entry fees and prizes, Tom Fenn and
Tim Myers as judges and assistant score keepers, Tom Campbell for his
help in scoring, to Mick and Sherry Fox for the food, and most of all to
all the great folks that came out to fly. For several of you, this was
your first fun fly, and you did just great. Keep up the good flying!
Bill
