Hi, Folks, and Happy
March. The weatherman (the only one that I know personally is Bob
Malone over at EPG) says that we are going to have some wind this year,
and Jerry West always told me that if you can't fly in wind, you won't
be flying very often around here. There seems to be some truth to
that. Thanks primarily to the leadership of Ed Koharik, and the support

My friend had two dead (he says) 3 volt batteries in his pocket
(can you see where this is going?), and planned to stop at the local battery
store on the way home to get new ones. He forgot that this was the
same pocket that he kept his change in, and at about 0830 we heard this
awful howl coming from his office. It seems that there was still
enough juice in those "dead" batteries, that when they got
shorted in his pocket, they burned him. Please remember this lesson, folks - dead batteries are not necessarily so dead that they can't hurt you. Until next month, may
you keep the propeller pointing forward, the elevator at the back of the
aircraft, and the wheels down at landing!
The Mesquite Modelers Radio Control Club will sponsor a show at the Mall at Sierra Vista on Saturday March 23. To make this event a success we need your help. The current plan is to set up at 9:00 AM. The display will run from 10:00AM till 5:00 PM. We need a variety of planes (both completed and under construction). Would like both fixed wing and helicopters for display and the people to staff the display. We also need people familiar with Great Planes Real Flight G2 to help visitors fly the simulator. If you can help and bring airplanes, contact Ed Koharik |
The next meeting of the MMRCC is scheduled for March 7, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting will be held at the TRW facility (Highway 90 Bypass). Personnel are required to sign-in and sign out for security purposes FROM THE
Combat on Saturday March 9 at 9:00 AM at CRCM in Tucson, just south of Ina on frontage road. Sunday March 24 another combat at TRCC at 9:30 AM. On April 6 & 7, Wings Over The Desert IMAA Fly-In and swap meet at the TRCC Field. We can fly at Libby Field on March 30 and April 20. Any non-internet users contact me or club officers and we can relay all pertinent ground rules that must be followed or we can lose this privilege. REMEMBER, DUES ARE PAST DUE. Anyone that is not a card carrying member, this will be the last newsletter. Flying is hours of boredom punctuated by moments of pure terror and takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory. Any questions, comments, or information you would like me to include, please contact me. See you at the field, Will |
