Next MMRCC Club Meeting The next meeting of the MMRCC is scheduled for March 1, 2001 at the TRW facility (Highway 90 Bypass) Personnel are required to sign-in and sign out for security purposes. The President’s Corner It is hard to believe it’s March already. The Mall Show Static Display is scheduled for Saturday March 10, 2001. I’ve been in regular contact with Anna Steffen, Marketing Director for the Mall at Sierra Vista and all should go well once again. The Mall is looking forward to having us. During last month meeting the topic of “flying courtesy” was brought up. It was evidently a topic of discussion once before at a meeting prior to my assuming the duties as your president. |
Here
is my take on the subject:
Bolin Field is a public flying field owned by the city of Sierra Vista. Anyone who is an AMA member in good standing can fly there. (One should also be a member of MMRCC) There are some folks who for whatever reason can only fly on Saturdays. There are those folks who can only fly on weekdays. There are also folks who can fly any day of the week if they so desire. If one wants to fly and the frequency pin is available they should fly. The sky is big enough to enjoyed by everyone, regardless of skill level. We should consider ourselves very fortunate. We are a small club. There are some model fields in the country where an RC Pilot must wait his / her turn to fly because there are so many RC Pilots on the same frequency. Full size airports do not restrict their airspace when there are numerous pilots in the pattern…..neither will we. Let common sense be the rule of the day. Happy Flying, Al Tomlinson |
