The Prez Sez Happy New Year, Club members (and to those of you just waiting to give our treasurer some of your hard earned dollars). The year ahead is one of many opportunities for Mesquite Modelers. After many months of not being able to fly on Libby Field, that looks like it will reopen early this year. We are also working on an arrangement with the City to utilize the Sierra Vista Airport. As always, on my mind (sounds like Willie Nelson, doesn't it), are field improvements at Bollin Field; to accomplish at least one mall show, one fun fly, and one combat competition. But above all, to be safe and just plain have fun. Best Wishes, Bill, Pete, Tom, Tom and Will. Next MMRCC Club Meeting The next meeting of the MMRCC is scheduled for January 3, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting will be held at the TRW facility (Highway 90 Bypass). Personnel are required to sign-in and sign out for security purposes. |
As you may have noticed from the above heading, I am going to attempt to be your new newsletter editor. Any suggestions, comments or complaints, please e-mail or call me. SEASONS GREETINGS
In case you might have missed the November meeting or the December dinner, the names after the presidents message are your officers for 2002. Bill Hermes (Pres, Pete Haring (V-Pres), Tom Campbell (Secy), Tom Fenn (Treas) and Will Herman (Editor). New Years Day
Everyone at the field to start the new year right. Lets all fly!!! DUES Don’t forget, dues are now due for the year 2002. You must have a current AMA membership and fill out a MMRCC application. See Tom Fenn to pay. |
To date there have not been any events scheduled for 2002. These items will probably be up for discussion at the January meeting. This is a big reason for all to attend to get your two cents worth into the pot and make suggestions and recommendations. The combat fly in Tucson, the first part of December was a fighting success. My numbers are close, as I didn’t get to attend and memory is starting to fail. There were 17 entries with 2 from MMRCC, Tom Fenn and Jerry West. These two made a good showing and finished in the top 50%. The dinner was the final event for 2001 and there was a pretty good attendance. Fun was had with the gifts for members with the multimeter being the number one wanted item and the gallon of fuel with a close second. There were four nice airplane kits that were raffled. Now it would be nice to see them completed and out to the field for flying. |
